Paul and Marcus along with a few of their friends did some drum fishing over Labor Day weekend. They were fishing on a charter boat out of Oriental, NC (w/Captain Brian Harrington of Down East Guide Service). The water was rough at times with waves breaking over the bow of the 26' boat, but that didnt stop them from landing 20 large drum. The group of four each caught 5 drum. The bait of choice was fresh menhaden. Check out the great pictures!

Guffster with a citation 52.5" drum (26.5" girth) caught in a deep water channel. Also a nice pic of MLJ's 25 foot
C-Hawk Sport Cabin boat (picture taken earlier in the year). The last picture is a shot of us in the C-Hawk on the Town Dock Harbor CAM in Oriental, NC!
Not shown are big rays, sharks, flounder, speckled trout, and bluefish which were also caught on this Memorial Day outing. We also spotted Dolphin, Sea Turtles, Atlantic Silversides, Pogies, Northern Water Snakes, plus many species of birds including juvenile Northern Gannets, Black Skimmers, American Oystercatchers, Brown Pelicans, and a variety of Gulls and Terns.

Work kept us busy this fall, so not many pictures to display. We bought a 1993 Lance 880 Truck Camper from a couple in Florida to use as our primary fishing / camping vehicle. You can see more of our Truck Camper pictures by clicking here.

Only did a little fishing and camping this Spring. On this trip we took the dogs. Caught a few fish, and added some new birds to the life list. Saw Black Skimmers on the beach. Our catch included bluefish, flounder, and puppy drum. We met up with some friends and took their boat over to Portsmouth Island. Had a great time as usual.

Just a few pics from a Fall trip we took. Must have left the digital camera in the truck for the others. We cleaned some flounder and pompano for dinner one night. The drowning Jeep (not mine) was quite a sight. It did finally get towed out and was of course ruined. Our favorite "other" dog 'O'rion was snoozing in the truck. Mike Johnson took a few of the pics shown.

Our first trip of the season over Easter Weekend. The weather was very nice with a good breeze and temps in the 60's. Here you will see pictures
of my brother Trent with a 28 inch puppy drum and a small bluefish. In addition to the puppy drum, we caught several sea mullet, dogfish, and some bluefish. The dogs
had fun on this trip too.
Mike Johnson got another 46 inch citation on his last trip. And congrats go to Lisa Whittington on her first citation drum - a whopping 45.5 inch fish with a 24 inch girth! Way to go Lisa!
Becky and I made a few more trips to the Island and had some luck with flounder.

Uh.... well lets just say the fish like to eat after a big storm. The first pic here shows the
caliber of Hurricane Isabel which hit the Outer Banks early this fall and caused devastation over much
of Eastern North Carolina. The next few pics are from my good fishing buddies on a trip a few weeks
later w/out me (several citation-sized Red Drum). The 3 flounder pics (17in., 15.5in. 18in.) are from a
recent trip my wife and I made to Hatteras Island. The last few pics are a few more great Drum
catches by Mike and Earl Johnson, and a 26in. puppy drum that I caught.
Wow, just got word that Mike and Earl caught a few more citations after I left this weekend. The drum
ranged from 46.5 inches to a whopping 52 inches !!!!! That's the first ones we have caught that broke the 50 inch barrier. You can
really get a feel for how big they are by looking at the picture of the mouth of Mike's 52 incher... I guess (like normal) I should have
stuck around for a few more days...

We caught a few on a recent trip to the Outer Banks. Winds were southwest, with rain on and off.
Overall in 2 days of fishing we got 4 drum in the 30" range with 1 of them just shy of 40", 4 puppy drum in the 20" range,
1 puppy drum at 18", and a couple of nice bluefish with the biggest at 33". The first 4 pictures are from that trip. The remaining
pictures are from a trip to the Outer Banks the week before that Becky and I made.
A couple more nice drum added to the list. I unfortunately did not make it on this trip. Earl Johnson with 2 more citation 42in.
red drum and Mike Johnson with 1 more very nice 45in. citation red drum.
