Daiwa Millionaire Reel w/box
Guffster

I collect and use Daiwa Millionaire reels made in the '70s and early '80s. To the right you should see a picture of one as it was sold new with the original box and such. These were the very first bait-casting reels I ever used and I remember generating quite a few backlashes in learning to cast them. However, now they have become a hobby for me and I enjoy collecting them and providing information about them to others who collect and use them too. Do you have any of these you would like to sell or trade? Or do you have any additional DAIWA Millionaire information you would like to share for others? Please drop me an EMAIL if you do. Check back often as I am continually adding information to this site...

D.A.M. Quick Champion Reels
I also enjoy collecting the W. German made D.A.M. Quick Champion series of bait casters.
D.A.M. Quick 700B Reel
Guffster

These precision made reels were made in West Germany and came in several models. The 600B, 700, 700B, 800, and 800B. All reels were either silver or black and some models were narrow spool models. A bit heavy for casting but definitely a work of art! Precision machined and hand fitted helical toothed gears, star drag, centrifugal brakes, spool tension brake and smooth running levelwind made this a reel favored by many who used bait-casting reels.

Ambassadeur 6000 red
Guffster

The 5000 and 6000 are two versions of this famous reel. Many others existed including the 1000, 1500, 2500, 4000, 5500, 7000 plus others. The Ambassadeur 6000 (shown here) has a greater line capacity than the 5000. Some of the features of this reel include sideplates with lineguards, mechanical brakes, centrifugal brake to help prevent backlashes, star drag, free spool, auto anti-reverse, nylon gears and bushings, and more. It appears that most of the 6000's were red with the exception of the 6000C model which was black. Click below to see some pictures and more details.
