1993 Lance 880 Truck Camper
Monday, October 10th, 2005 - The Lance Camper upon delivery.
Some pictures of the recently purchased 1993 Lance Model 880 Truck Camper along with my Ford F-350 PSD 4x4. Some of these pictures were made on the way home from taking delivery of the camper in Florida. It had been sitting for a few years and was in need of a bit of cleaning and evaluation.

Saturday, October 15th, 2005 - Building a 'center-and-lift' frame for the F-350 Truck.
To center the camper in the bed of the truck and to lift it 3.5 to 4 inches (since newer Ford Trucks have higher cabs than 1993 Lance Campers were made for) I built a "center-and-lift" frame structure and covered it with a thick rubber mat. I left the bedliner in place since it helped with some of the lift and allows water to drain under the camper. I was inspired by a design I found from some of the fine folks at the rv.net forum.

Saturday, November 12th, 2005 - After much cleaning and fixing...
After a few weekends and evenings of cleaning, fixing, caulking, wiring, etc. we were ready for our first trip. We decided to head to the Outer Banks of N.C. for a little surf fishing and relaxation. The weather was incredible (especially for November) and our trip was outstanding!

Sunday, February 12th, 2006 - We added matching seat cushions around our TC table.
Our TC didn't have the original seat cushions around the table when we purchased it. So... we found inexpensive matching fabric (and vinyl for the seat bottoms), cut them to size, ironed on some backing material, cut some foam cushions to fit, and sewed it all together. Uh.. actually my wife Becky did all the sewing - and a great job she did! See the pictures below to see how they turned out (I removed the table for the pictures).
We were extremely happy with outcome. This was just one more project to bring the '93 Lance camper back to near new condition.

Tuesday, February 14th, 2006 - The new generator arrives (Kipor Sinemaster KGE3000TI)
Finally got around to ordering the new portable generator. We decided to go with the Kipor instead of the Honda due to increased power, cheaper price, and the fact that they seem to be more readily available now in the USA. This one (the Sinemaster KGE3000TI) arrived safe and sound. After checking it over and filling with the proper amount of oil and gas, it started on about the 8th pull.
We then proceeded to connect it to the TC and it ran everything including lights, refrigerator, microwave, a/c, heat strip, ceramic heater, TV, and a 110v high-watt hair dryer (although not all at the same time). The sound level is amazingly very acceptable, although it is a tad bit louder than the Honda EU2000i (however, it does offer more power). We are happy and anxious to use it on our next trip.

Sunday, March 12th, 2006 - Replaced the 13 year old floor with a new one.
We decided we were tired of looking at our fading 13 year old yellow camper floor. So, off to Lowe's Home Improvement we went to pick out a new improved floor. We decided to go with Armstrong vinyl floor tiles and picked out the Santana Fieldstone Tiza pattern from their Signia Collection (Product No. A1360).
Removing the original floor was relatively easy, but we did need a couple of good scrapers to remove all the old vinyl and glue. After we removed the old floor, Becky went to work installing the new floor tiles one by one. She had done several floors like this in the past (3 kitchen floors, 1 bathroom and 1 laundry room floor). After a good several hours, all was done with the exception of the trim molding. Take a look below to see the improvement. I'll post more pictures once the trim molding is installed.

New floor pictures above (much much better)
I also took the opportunity to fix the entrance door grab-handle/light so the light works again.
